“Nuit du Piano” at the Opéra de Toulon

The “Nuit du Piano”, which will take place on Saturday 17th February, will close this year’s edition of the Winter Festival at the Ópera de Toulon in France. At the “Nuit”, Judith Jáuregui will play different works by several composers including Beethoven, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Debussy and Poulenc.

The concert will be divided in two halves: during the first one, Judith will present Beethoven’s Sonata no. 25 in G Major Op. 79 as well as Estampes - Pagodes, La soirée dans Grenade, Jardins sous la pluie and L'isle joyeuse by Debussy. In the second half, she will perform Schumman’s Arabesque Op. 18, three Novelettes by Poulenc and Mendelssohn’s Variations sérieuses Op. 54.

Judith will share the night with three other pianists, making the soirée a true celebration and tribute to the instrument. François Dumont will perform works by Bach, Beethoven and Ravel, Nathalia Milstein brings a repertoire devoted to Liszt, Ravel and Schumann, and Jean-Paul Gasparian will play works by Brahms, Messiaen, Ravel and Schubert.

The Music Festival of Toulon, of which this Winter Festival forms part of, was created in 1951 y and is one of the six oldest festivals in France, making this annual event one of the most important dates of the country’s musical agenda.
