Judith Jáuregui on the The London Music Nights LP
Judith Jáuregui is one of the artists that have been brought together on the LP of The London Music Nights, a cycle of eight concerts that aims move live classical music performances out of their traditional venues and bring them closer to general audiences. The release of the LP is the high point of this new initiative, which is already an established and consolidated musical proposal in important cities such as New York, London or Paris.
For the LP, Judith Jáuregui has chosen her recording of Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturne no. 20. In the words of Benjamín García Rosado, curator of this concert cycle, “Judith Jáuregui has drawn her own sound constellation. The points of reference in here pianism are varied: sometimes intense and passionate like Martha Argerich or her admired Alicia de Larrocha; at other times delicate and sensual like Maria João Pires or Mitsuko Uchida, but she is always faithful to the essence of every music sheet”. He adds that “only in this way can one reach the lucid introspection of Liszt, the serene contemplation of Debussy or the comforting nostalgia of the silences of Mompou”.
In addition to Judith, this project has brought together renown musicians and ensembles such as the Cuarteto Quiroga, Lina Tur Bonet with Enrico Onofri, Forma Antiqua, Josetxu Obregón & Enrike Solinís, Raquel Andueza & la Galanía, Spanish Bras and the Neopercusión ensemble.
All concerts take place on the second Monday of each month starting at 9pm at the emblematic Café Comercial in Madrid. Judith’s turn will be on Monday 9 of April when she will be playing a repertoire covering three centuries of music, from Haydn to Liszt, Debussy, Chopin and Szymanowski.
