Judith Jáuregui, Artist in Residence at the Murten Classics Festival

The Spanish pianist will make her debut in Switzerland as Artist in Residence at the Murten Classics Festival, which will take place between August 13th and September 3rd. The festival has recently presented its upcoming edition, where Jáuregui is due to be one of its main protagonists and will be offering festival-goers a 360 degree tour of her piano: as a soloist, playing chamber music and recital concerts, as well as presenting her latin-jazz piano fusion project.

Press and media have already started talking about this XXIV edition of the festival, which will be devoted to “The Muse” as a concept of inspiration and creative magic.

The programme of the festival includes her solo performance of Schumman’s Concert for Piano with the Prague Philharmonie conducted by Kaspar Zehnder, artistic director of the festival. She will also be playing a recital concert of works by several composers, from Liszt to Debussy and Mompou to Albéniz, as well as chamber music with several ensembles. Furthermore, she will present her latiz-jazz piano fusión project “Chopin’Chopin” together with Cuban pianist Pepe Rivero.

From its beginnings, the festival -which takes place in the unique and picturesque setting of the town of Murten, in the canton of Fribourg- has seen performances of musical artists with a distinguished international career.
