First solo album by Judith Jáuregui, for the Columna Música record label, and forming part of the Juventudes Musicales de España collection. The album is dedicated to Schumann and includes works written in 1830-1840, when the composer devoted himself to the piano, his confidant. It includes Papillons Op.2, a kaleidoscopic work inspired by his attraction for games, allusions, dates, masks, duality, etc. This is followed by Allegro Op.8, inevitably virtuous, and the Fantasiestücke Op.12 collection of miniatures, quintessential romantic Schumann.
In collaboration with Caja España and Gestión Musical Lueno, Several Records has launched a CD with various Spanish artists to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Albéniz’s death. It includes not only his works but also those of composers around him, in and outside Spain. Judith Jáuregui illustrates his travels to South America, playing works of the Brazilian Heitor Villalobos and the Argentinian Alberto Ginastera.
