Biography

Following her highly successful performances at prestigious festivals such as the Festival Musika-Música in Bilbao, Festival Internacional de Música Castell de Peralada, Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, Ciclo de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Scherzo, Quincena Musical de San Sebastián or the Festival International de Piano de La Roque d'Antheron, Judith Jáuregui is placed among the Spanish pianists of her generation with the most promising future ahead of them.

Born in San Sebastian (Spain) in 1985, she graduated from the local conservatory with the maximum distinction. Her teacher was Cristina Navajas. She continued her training at the Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca with Claudio Martínez-Mehner and at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich with Vadim Suchanov.

She has been awarded many prizes in both national and international competitions. In 2007, she won the Frechilla-Zuloaga competition in Valladolid and the XXVIIth competition for young pianists Ciudad de Albacete, where she was also rewarded with the prizes for the best interpretation of Chopin and best interpretation of Spanish music.

She made her début as a solist with the orchestra of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de San Sebastián, and then with the Youth Orchestra of Hessen (Germany) and the Symphonic Orchestra of Castilla y León. She has recorded programmes for Radio Nacional de España, Radio Televisión Española, France Musique of Radio France and for the Serb television channels Sremska Television and Super Television.

On the recording front, she has recently produced a CD for the Columna Música label, which is dedicated to Schumann and forms part of the Juventudes Musicales de España Collection which will be released in September 2010.
